Feeling Tempted? Or Renewed?
Who knew? Snakes are associated with both good and bad qualities. Based on my experience, it seems they’re more well known for their perceived bad qualities than good. On the good side they can symbolize lots of things, including rebirth, healing, wisdom, and primal energy. On the bad side you’ve got that whole good vs. evil thing.
Most of the people I know don’t like snakes. “Too slimy” they say. But they’re not slimy at all! Their scales are quite smooth and dry. I, on the other hand, like snakes.
For me this drawing symbolizes conflict within oneself. You can’t seem to get out of your own way. You’re too busy fighting you can’t stop long enough to realize you’re only screwing yourself. You’ve got a lot of misplaced, or maybe unwarranted anger and you don’t know what to do with it.
Earl (they guy in the lower right) is the embodiment of all those external (or internal) influences that are no help; just throwing more fuel to the fire. Are you willing to cut off your nose to spite your face?
And you gotta wonder if you’ll be able to bring yourself around long enough to think it through before you do anything crazy. Can you save yourself? Will you save yourself? Do you need someone to save you from yourself? Are you willing to take help from someone?
What’s causing this battle to rage?
Have you ever been in this situation? How did you handle it?
